What to Expect at a Bangkok Game Night (If You’re Coming Alone)

The hardest part can be walking through the door. Here’s how to find us, join a table, and get started—even if you feel a little nervous.

Before you come

  • Where:Treehouse Cafe & Bar, Phrom Phong — about a 10-minute walk from EmSphere.
  • When:Saturdays, 6–9 PM. Check upcoming dates for any cancellations.
  • Cost:฿350, including one drink priced at ฿350 or less.
  • Joining:Currently walk-in only. No app or advance booking needed; seating is first-come, first-served.

Find us when you arrive

Ask the restaurant staff where the Crimson Cat Events group is. They’ll point you our way.

Tell the host you’ve come alone, and we’ll help you join a table. You don’t need to approach a group and work out whether you’re allowed to sit down.

Give yourself time to settle in

The first half-hour, from 6–6:30 PM, is for arriving, getting a drink, and chatting. Arriving then gives you time to settle in before the games begin.

You don’t have to make a dazzling first impression. A hello and your name are enough to start.

Let the first game give you something to say

We begin with icebreakers and quick party games. You don’t need board-game experience—we’ll explain how to play.

A clue, a guess, or a shared decision gives you something to respond to. You can get to know the people beside you while doing something together.

You don’t have to be the loudest person

You can be interested without being the centre of attention. Listen, take your turn, and ask a question when something catches your interest.

Feeling nervous doesn’t mean the evening is going badly. Give yourself time to get used to the table.

Make your first visit simple

  • Start with one table. You don’t need to meet everyone in the room.
  • Ask when you’re unsure. You don’t have to pretend you understand a game.
  • Aim for a good evening. A pleasant conversation is enough; friendship doesn’t need a deadline.

If you enjoy yourself, come back. Seeing someone again gives your next conversation a starting point.
